Small Animal Vet Position – Hawkesbury, NW Sydney

A community-focused small animal practice based in the pretty town of Hawkesbury is recruiting a vet for growth. They are looking for a three-year qualified vet, but what is most important is an emphatic person, a real team player who wants to roll their sleeves up and get stuck in from the start.
This practice has a team of 3 vets and 4 nurses, and they pride themselves on not cutting corners. They have a highly skilled unit that is passionate about providing quality care while maintaining a focus on work-life balance and fun in the workplace.
This practice has a real 'family feel' about it where everyone pulls together when there's work and relaxes when it's time. Without the shackles of a large vet group, decisions can be made quickly, and ideas are encouraged.
They have a strong ethos here, with 'food is medicine' at the core of their mission. The team has the expertise and experience to incorporate raw meaty bones, medicine, and surgery in the treatment of sick dogs and cats, allowing for a truly unique, all-encompassing approach to treatment with a strong emphasis on diet and preventative health.
They handle a wide range of caseloads, including emergency cases with snake and tick envenomation, orthopaedics, complex soft tissue surgeries, and routine de-sexings and dental surgeries.
A standard week is 30 hours (half days would be either 9am-3pm or 3pm-7pm; a full day would be 9am-7pm), but they are negotiable around these.

It is less than an hour away from the city, about an hour away from the beaches, and close to the Blue Mountains for scenic tours and hiking. There is wildlife visiting the back door of the clinic every day, and the Macquarie Arms, the oldest pub on the mainland, is just a 15-minute drive from the clinic.
