Rspca Wa

Details of the offer

The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA WA) is the state's leading voice in animal welfare. On an average day, we employ around 100 staff and we have the support of an amazing group of volunteers. Together, our team works diligently toward preventing animal cruelty.
About this opportunity The veterinary clinic based at the RSPCA WA shelter in Malaga provides services for the shelter animals and the RSPCA WA Inspectorate. As we do not offer a veterinary service to the public, there is no reception work.
This permanent, part-time role will be four 7.6-hour days, aimed at a Veterinary Nurse who is able to work unsupervised and does not require supervision from a veterinary surgeon for general, and more complex, nursing tasks. We also encourage people to apply who may be looking for either full-time or alternative working hours to apply as we may have other options that become available.
Duties Carry out all nursing tasks without instruction including (but not limited to):
Preparation of animals for surgery. Anesthetic monitoring. Conduct radiography under direction of veterinarian. Provide assistance to volunteers and other nursing/support staff as required and maintain a friendly, helpful manner at all times. Provide general animal care, including feeding, cleaning, exercising of animals in care, without requiring any veterinary supervision or additional assistance. Be willing to assist or handle a wide variety of animals using fear-free handling, with appropriate training as required. Advise other team members on how to do this safely and do this in a manner to reduce potential harm to both persons and animals at all times. Comply with workplace policies and procedures, including Occupational Safety and Health and Equal Opportunity legislation. Skills and experience Certificate IV qualified and registered Veterinary Nurse. Demonstrate a sound knowledge of animal husbandry. Ability to plan and organise tasks to ensure all essential tasks are completed daily. Ability to work within a team environment. Ability to prioritise tasks efficiently and utilise downtime appropriately. Inclusive At RSPCA WA, we accept and celebrate our differences. We aim to create a diverse workforce where all individuals are treated with dignity and respect. We believe it is in the RSPCA WA's best interests and those who work within it to recognise the value of each individual and to combat prejudice, stereotyping, and harassment.
How to Apply To apply, please head to the listing on SEEK: Veterinary Nurse.
Applications must include a concise CV along with a covering statement outlining the skills and experience you would bring to this role and your salary expectations.
