Summer Street Vet Clinic is seeking a fourth veterinarian to work in our rapidly growing 100% small animal practice in Orange, NSW, Australia.
The practice was established in January 2007 but has recently undergone extensive renovations and is well equipped with all the usual toys such as Idexx in-house lab, Digital X-ray, Ultrasound, IM3 dental gear, orthopaedics, Vitavue Multiparameter monitor, etc.
We are a busy clinic with an interesting and varied caseload and lovely, devoted clients.
We aim to provide a happy, safe and fun work environment with an emphasis on high standards of care and a great work/life balance.
We have a great team of competent and friendly nurses and vets and whether your passion is medicine, surgery or both, we can accommodate you.
Remuneration is well above the award and can be negotiated according to experience.
We also offer all the usual allowances, continuing education, etc.
For suitable applicants wanting to make a permanent move to Orange, future partnership opportunities will be considered.
SALARY and AWARD RATE Salary: e.g.
$75,000 - $130,000 subject to experience

Award Level/Salary Range: Veterinarian Level 2 – Veterinarian Level 4
POSITION OBJECTIVES To provide medical and surgical treatment and care for animals in the clinic.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Inspect and monitor the health and well-being of patients in hospital and provide veterinary care when required.Conduct routine, emergency or orthopaedic surgeries as required.Maintain appropriate manual and computerised records.Consult with clients to implement preventative programs e.g.
vaccinations and help to educate them with respect to pet care.Any other duties as directed by the senior vet.ORGANISATIONAL RELATIONSHIP The occupant of the position works closely with and is supervised by the senior vet.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE A degree in veterinary science.Registration with the Veterinary Practitioners Board of NSW.A minimum of 12 months experience in small animal and/or mixed animal practice.Sound understanding or ability to acquire understanding of and commitment to OHS principles and practices.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES Ability to carry out the duties of a veterinarian.Capacity to convey knowledge, skill and experience to less experienced veterinary staff.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Exceptional writing skills, diligence and a high level of accuracy.High degree of motivation and demonstrated ability to work well as part of a team, but also to work independently, with minimum supervision when required.Ability to work under pressure, prioritise multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.Ability to establish and maintain confidentiality.PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES A genuine interest in animal health, care and welfare.Highly developed organisation skills.Honest and reliable, and willing to take direction.CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT Detailed conditions of employment are set out in the occupant's letter of engagement, the award and any other document referred to in relevant industrial relations laws.Approval for overtime must be given by the senior vet prior to being worked.You may be required to work a roster that includes one weekend day.You may be required to be on call from time to time.WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND EXPECTATIONS There is a possibility of exposure to infectious organisms, animal waste, allergens, chemical materials requiring Work Health Safety Data Sheets, and vicious animals.You need to be willing to work occasional weekends and public holidays.You are expected to maintain a neat and well-groomed personal appearance.You are required to attend staff training sessions and staff meetings and on occasion, you may be required to conduct the sessions.You must demonstrate a commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy site environment for staff and clients.You need to demonstrate cooperative work practices and contribute to a positive culture.You will need to be physically able to clean and lift up to 20 kgs.Summary of role requirements: Looking for candidates available to work:Tuesday: Morning, AfternoonWednesday: Morning, AfternoonThursday: Morning, AfternoonFriday: Morning, AfternoonSaturday: MorningNo experience required for this role.Work visa can be provided for this role.Expected start date for role: 01 December 2024.Expected salary: $75,000 - $130,000 per year. #J-18808-Ljbffr
