ResponsibilitiesUndertake consultations for veterinary clients, including afterhours emergency callsFoster and maintain excellent client relations, dealing with client enquiries willingly and in a timely manner both over the phone and face to facePerform veterinary procedures, including but not limited to routine and non-routine consultations, surgery and dentistry and be prepared to learn and assist with more complicated proceduresPerform routine workup of medical cases with logical progression and evidence-based medicine with consideration towards the economic value of animals if requiredProvide advice within the scope of your knowledge and experience on issues such as nutrition, breeding, and general healthAwareness of the scope of your experience and the point at which additional help and expertise is requiredMaintain and continue to strive for excellence in practice through continuing professional developmentConduct professional work at all times involving considerable independence of approachPrescribe and administer medications and anesthesiaPerform radiographic proceduresPerform pathological testing in accordance with infection control protocolsPerform surgical autopsy and euthanasia as requiredCommunicate diagnosis and treatment plans to clientsPerform on call duties as requiredMeet animal health regulatory and legislative requirementsEssential CriteriaRegistration with state Veterinary BoardBachelor of Veterinary Science or equivalent degreeA minimum of two years' veterinary experienceCurrent and valid Driver's licenseDemonstrated ability to focus on customer needsAbility to work as a team and independently with all members of staffWell-developed interpersonal skills including the ability to clearly communicate with staff and clients alikeTime management with regard to both punctuality and the ability to complete tasks within the required timeframeMaintain a high standard of presentation, taking pride in one's personal appearance and the clinic itselfSound knowledge of health and safety obligations and demonstrated skills in safe operation of equipment relevant to a mixed animal practiceThe salary offered will be in the range of $75,000 to above $100,000 depending on experience and specialisation/s.
