Strategy and Planning are seeking to establish a pool of Senior Project Officers - Business Cases for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during 2025 and up to the end of December 2025. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
The Infrastructure Division has responsibility for the planning and provision of facilities (land, buildings and equipment), which includes land planning, student enrolment forecasting and facilities planning, strategic asset management, capital works programs, maintenance and minor works programs and provision of facilities related services.
The Strategy and Planning Directorate oversee the longer-term strategic planning of land and building infrastructure, prepare capital funding proposals, provide statistical and demographic planning, develop asset management and sustainability strategy and policy, undertake land acquisition and manage the Department's land estate.
The Role The Senior Project Officer - Business Cases develops, coordinates and implements capital investment budget and business case programs in line with department policy and objectives.
Suitable applicants will use their communication and research skills to gather data and undertake analysis of school enrolment trends and infrastructure requirements to draft submissions and business cases seeking additional capital funding. They will be required to use their project management, organisational and communication skills effectively to consult with a range of stakeholders within the Department of Education and external agencies and stakeholders to coordinate budget submissions that comply with the Department of Treasury Strategic Asset Management Framework.
