About the opportunity
There is currently one (1) permanent – full time position available for immediate filling.

The Senior Livestock Compliance Inspector (Animal Welfare) role offers a rewarding opportunity to lead compliance activities related to livestock welfare and legislation.
In this role, you will be responsible for conducting inspections, investigations, and enforcing regulations to ensure the well-being of livestock.
You will be involved in preparing evidence reports, issuing notices and cautions, and supporting prosecution processes.
You will also contribute to developing operational policies, compliance strategies, and improvement initiatives.
You'll collaborate with government bodies, industry, and community groups on animal welfare and livestock movement issues, while fostering strong relationships with stakeholders and law enforcement agencies.

This position is located in Albany, where you can enjoy the stunning beauty of the Great Southern region of Western Australia.

We are looking for individuals with:
Knowledge and understanding of relevant compliance legislation and operational procedures.
Proven ability to interpret and apply legislation.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

DPIRD is an Emergency Management Agency and all employees may be required to work or travel during, or outside of, normal business hours to assist with incidents and emergencies.

To be eligible for a permanent appointment to the Western Australian public sector you must be an Australian citizen or have permanent residency status in Australia.
