Melbourne Showgrounds is seeking a Venue Operations Coordinator with a can-do attitude, flexibility, and a passion for delivering exceptional events. About the Role As a Venue Operations Coordinator, you'll be key in supporting Melbourne Showgrounds' operations.
This role offers a unique mix of client interaction and hands-on event execution.
You'll report to the Senior Manager, Event & Venue Operations for your development, performance reviews, and leave management.
For daily tasks and shift-based activities, you'll report to the on-duty Operations Manager, ensuring a responsive and dynamic operational environment.
Key Responsibilities Oversee event setup, ensuring facilities are prepared according to client needs.Act as the main point of contact for clients during events, ensuring smooth communication.Coordinate day-to-day venue activities, including safety, presentation, and maintenance.Liaise with suppliers such as cleaning, security, and catering teams.Complete documentation, including shift reports and incident logs. Desired Skills and ExperienceWhat are we looking for? 2-3 years of experience in event operations or logistics.Driver's License and Forklift License (or willingness to obtain).Flexibility for a rotating roster, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.Strong interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to perform under pressure.High work ethic, integrity, and a commitment to continuous improvement.Organisational Compliance: Current Working with Children Check.National Police Check.Availability to work all 11 days of the Melbourne Royal Show.Adherence to Melbourne Royal's Code of Conduct, policies, and values.Why Join Us?
