Welcome to The Den; when it comes to leadership we are built differently, and we know it!The Den Salamanca is a premier venue located on Hobart's desirable waterfront. Our venue boasts a uniquely Tasmanian experience for our guests in its offerings of beverage, food, and customer service.We're looking for a Venue Manager who will ensure The Den operates smoothly, with sufficient stock and staff at all times – but more importantly someone with the passion to push our business to the next level and leave a lasting legacy in the venue for years to come. The environment is dynamic and fast-paced with an incredibly talented team to lead and important business decisions to be made. At The Den when it comes to customer service and quality, no stone is left unturned, and it will be your responsibility to drive that!Our venue is part of a much wider network and is supported by a Head Office of business professionals and a suite of sophisticated systems and procedures. We preference business training of our leaders to optimize the customer experience and profitability. Performance metrics are clearly delineated, accountabilities communicated, and teams set up for success. Whilst we will never lose sight of our core value 'hospitality' our sights are set on business growth and expansion – we need your help with that.Added to this, nobody does business analytics in bar management at an operational level like we do. You will have full access to data and tools to make smart financial decisions on behalf of the business to monitor and influence KPI performance.We wouldn't be a hospitality venue without excellent customer service being a pillar of our operation. You will be responsible for being the shining benchmark for stellar customer service, instilling in your venue team core values and skills to propel the experience of our guests into something they will remember for years to come. Fostering your team will be a large focus and building up the individuals who make up your core leadership group will ultimately lead to The Den's ongoing success.This role will include:Working on the venue floor and administrative workManaging a team of 15+ individuals with ongoing recruitment, training, and development of staffFostering and maintaining an excellent team cultureResponding to and pushing the team to reach clearly identified KPI'sRostering and budget monitoringUpholding the standards of procedural complianceIdentifying opportunities for improvement within the businessProviding exceptional customer service to guestsManaging the experience of guests to ensure they are memorableLeading changes to the beverage program (cocktails, wine, beer, etc.)Collaborating with our event and marketing team to create special experiences for our guests and team alikeDesirable candidates would have the following:Experience in hospitality management (or similar experience)Experience working with business metrics like labour management, KPI's and COGSProven experience cultivating team cultureAptitude to thrive in a procedure-driven environmentWeekend availability is essential; however, rosters are flexible – you'll be the one creating them! Specifically, we are drawn to highly motivated and enthusiastic individuals with a 'solution-based' mindset when tackling obstacles.
