Situated only fifteen minutes' drive from the Moranbah North Airport and with an expected life of mine until 2039, Grosvenor is here to stay for the long-term growth of your career. We offer modern facilities for camp accommodation with a short travel time of only five minutes from the mine site, Anglo American housing options and healthy meals!Grosvenor Mine has two exciting opportunities for an experienced Ventilation Officer to join the team on a permanent basis, based in Moranbah, QLD. You will be able to display a high level of strategic thinking, planning and problem-solving skills which will be instrumental in your success in this role.Reporting to the Ventilation & Gas Superintendent, your key accountabilities include:The implementation of the mine's ventilation system and the establishment of effective standards of ventilation for the mineEnsure the mine's air quality is measured and recorded under section 362Maintain all ventilation system changes in the mine and ensure all ventilation control devices are properly constructed and maintainedWork closely with the BCO Ventilation & Gas team and provide strategic advice on short to medium term mine development to optimize the value of the mine in terms of ventilationAssist with the management, planning, implementation and monitoring of the underground mine ventilation and gas drainage systems to ensure effectiveness against legislation and site requirementsMaintain the mine's statutory compliance with the Coal Mine Safety and Health Regulations by implementing and maintaining gas monitoring systemsQualificationsQueensland Ventilation Officer Certificate of Competency for Underground Coal Mines (RSHQ)Formal qualifications as a Ventilation Officer being recognised by Queensland or the ability to gain mutual recognitionDemonstrated experience in an underground coal mining operation as well as specialist knowledge in ventilationAbility to develop innovative solutions to complex problems, and a continuous improvement mindsetAbility to influence and build relationships throughout the siteA strong background in ensuring hazard identification and risk assessment principles, coupled with the compliance of all ventilation matters relating to legislation and the site safety management systemAdditional informationFull-time permanent positions based at Grosvenor Mine, Moranbah QLDAttractive 7 on, 7 off rosterCompetitive Salary + Annual Bonus + 12% SuperannuationResidential, FIFO (company funded) & DIDO optionsSeveral conveniently timed, daily bus transfers from the airport to camp and onto siteSubsidised Anglo accommodation and company funded camp with meals providedDomestic Relocation assistance to Moranbah townshipDiscounted gym membershipAnglo American company benefitsWhat we OfferWhen you join Anglo American, you can expect to enjoy a competitive salary and benefits package.
