Telstra Retail is responsible for Telstra's retail sales and services operations.
A taste of what the role entails: As a Vendor Specialist , you play a pivotal role in supporting the execution of vendor and supplier strategies and optimising vendor performance by managing day-to-day interactions and ensuring compliance with contractual terms.
Moreover, you will be accountable for providing insights analysis, logistics planning, procurement management and maintaining accurate records of vendor activities along with providing expert advice and proactive strategies to optimise vendor performance and compliance.
Your responsibilities include: Manage day-to-day interactions with vendors, ensuring clear communication and adherence to contractual terms.
Support others by providing tools, guidance and best practice advice to enable retail teams to successfully manage vendors and suppliers.
Conduct detailed data analysis to assess vendor performance and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Utilise internal tools such as Fieldglass, Sapphire and Jira to track and manage vendor activities and performance metrics.
Leverage interpersonal skills to drive outcomes with both internal and external stakeholders.
Apply agile methodologies to optimise vendor management processes.
Assist in the development and implementation of procurement strategies to ensure efficient sourcing and supply chain management.
Monitor vendor compliance with organisational policies and regulatory requirements.
Prepare and maintain accurate records of vendor activities, contracts, and performance reports.
Support risk management efforts by identifying potential vendor-related risks and developing mitigation strategies.
Facilitate stakeholder communication to ensure alignment and transparency in vendor-related activities.
Assist in the negotiation of vendor contracts and agreements to secure favourable terms and conditions.
Coordinate logistics planning to ensure timely delivery of goods and services from vendors.
Provide regular performance reports and insights to the Vendor & Supplier Manager and other relevant stakeholders.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of vendor management processes and practices.
Support the implementation of strategic initiatives and projects related to vendor management.
Ensure alignment of vendor activities with the organisation's broader strategic objectives and goals.
To be successful in this role, you must have: Qualifications Relevant experience in Vendor Relationship Management and Procurement Strategy is an advantage.
Strong contract negotiation skills.
Demonstrated proactiveness and meticulous attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills.
Experience using Power BI & Excel for data analysis is an advantage.
