Simplot's Echuca site dates back to 1978 and produces products under our Leggo's, Edgell, Chicken Tonight, Raguletto and Harvest brands.
Employing over 150 people, Simplot Echuca processes up to 15,000 tonnes of tomato paste each year, 8,000 tonnes of beetroot and has five unique packaging lines (glass jars, canning, plastic squeeze bottles, foil sachet and aseptic filling).
Reporting to the Production Planner, in this Mon-Fri role - the Vendor Scheduler will form an integral part of our on-site production activities by managing the ingredient and packaging stocks to meet the Master Production Schedule (MPS) in line with company policies and site Material Requirement Planning (MRP) procedures.
Other key elements to this role include the coordination of supplier deliveries, and inventory control (whilst ensuring accurate information relating to stock status of raw materials and packaging).
What You Will DoGenerate and maintain vendor schedules for packaging and ingredient suppliers in line with site MRP procedures to ensure the procurement and timely delivery of all ingredients and packaging requirements for the site to meet the production plan.Ensure 'Class A' targets for inventory accuracy and supplier delivery performance are met.Place orders or issue Vendor Schedules for all inventory items (raw and packaging) and non stock items (as requested).Follow up on purchase orders to ensure on time delivery and inform Production Planner of any expected delays.Record the receipt of goods in PRMS (AS400 system).Create WROs and track cross-docking inventory to the warehouses.Provide projections to suppliers for key raw and packaging materials upon request.Review and approve supplier invoices for payment.Maintain supplier records including parameters for order quantities or lot sizes, lead times and safety stock.Amend or advise of changes required to the Bills of Material (BOM), adjusting effective dates for use of imported or varying grades of WIP and packaging.Notify the supplier of any rejected goods, coordinating collection and the associated credit back to the business.Measure, analyse and report Supplier Delivery Performance (SDP) including quality, quantity and timeliness of delivery.Maintain and improve supply of materials by developing effective relationships with suppliers through regular delivery performance reviews and the measurement and analysis of SDP.About You100% commitment to health and safety in the workplaceKnowledge of Material Requirement Planning (MRP) softwareDemonstrated understanding of production processesPrior experience in inventory controlling / scheduling or logistics would be advantageousHigh attention to detailIntermediate experience in the MS Office suite of products (Excel / Outlook / Word)Be resilient in your approach to problem solvingAbility to build a rapport with a wide demographic of stakeholdersWillingness to undertake a pre-employment medical (incl.
