The Portfolio incorporates the following business units: Enterprise Projects and Business Performance (EPBP), Communications, People, Information and Technology Services (ITS), Finance, Governance and Legal, Data and Analytics, Office of the Chief Operating Officer, Procurement, and Vietnam Operations.The Portfolio houses significant drivers and delivery components across the staff and student journeys and enables the overall experience for both groups. The Portfolio is integral in bringing the RMIT strategy to life, across the globe. Each of these functions supports the global operations of the University both directly as well as through its controlled entities.ProcurementProcurement is a small but focused group reporting to the Chief Financial Officer. The role of Procurement is to review sourcing and procurement options across the university based on an expenditure on goods and services of ~$380M. Key issues addressed are:Identifying cost improvement initiatives across the university spendRationalising supplier baseNegotiating and establishing major RMIT group contracts based on combined purchasing powerEnabling the procurement process and policies through both systems and controlsUsing and leveraging group contracts to provide savingsDevelopment of category management plans and deep vendor relationship managementAbout YouThe Vendor Manager, ITS will be involved in the continued development and implementation of a Vendor Management Framework to track and monitor the performance, contractual obligations and operational Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for contracted vendors in RMIT University.The primary responsibility will be to support RMIT in managing its key ITS vendors, which includes a range of services from full Managed Services to Software-as-a-Service and subscription-based services, and, provide governance and monitoring of performance objectives to ensure any potential down trend in performance is captured early.The Vendor Manager is responsible for managing the relationships with these vendors and ensuring adherence to all strategic, tactical, operational and performance objectives, including adherence to financial commitments relating to cost to deliver service, adherence to unit and hourly rates and all operational expenditure that is associated with the delivery.The Vendor Manager will also be responsible for nurturing and managing major vendor relationships to extract value added benefits aligned to RMIT needs. The main activities include determining portfolio/college requirements, assessing supply markets, developing strategic vendor management plans, and managing vendor contracts, performance, and risk. The Vendor Manager will also support the RMIT Procurement team which is responsible for category management plans and strategic sourcing activities in ensuring continued improved commercial outcomes and strategies in the Information Technology Services category.The Vendor Manager will engage with senior stakeholders within the RMIT organisation and the vendor community to understand long-term business aspirations that can be enabled by third party relationships.
