The Role EMPIRE is looking for a Vendor Content Specialist to join our downtown San Francisco office. This role will report to the VP of Operations - Publishing and manage, improve, and grow EMPIRE's Publishing Catalog to support our partnerships, specifically with The Mechanical Licensing Collective. The MLC distributes digital audio and mechanical royalties to eligible self-administered songwriters, composers, lyricists, music publishers, administrators, and CMOs.
As Vendor Content Specialist, you will be responsible for:
Catalog registrations, reconciliation, vendor acknowledgment files/error reporting along with fixes, database management, department queries, SFTP folder management, catalog management, and DURP Project (Distributor Unmatched Recordings Portal). Matching sound recording data to musical works data through a combination of cross-referencing available data points and performing outside research. Extensively investigating source data for accurate matching. Performing various data entry and clean-up tasks. Reviewing and confirming the work of Empire Catalog vs MLC Database or other Rightsholders. Providing feedback and commentary on issues/conflicts to Client Managers. Collaborating and researching on internal development to improve matching and research strategies. Continually updating and improving work processes based on results of prior work and newly received data. Developing and maintaining a full EMPIRE MLC strategy based on writer shares, revenue, and usage data. The Focus Areas may inevitably evolve and change over time to meet changing business needs.
Key Notes for Success: 3+ years of experience building and maintaining publishing catalogs and working vendor relationships. Bachelor's Degree or similar skills and experience. Hands-on experience inputting and correcting large data sets. A solid foundation of Publishing/Works knowledge and the relationship to Sound Recordings. Experience with CWR, CSV, DDEX-DSR, and all other formats related to Music Publishing. Experience with managing summary, error, and vendor usage data. Pay Range: $26.00- $36.00/hour + benefits + discretionary bonus + profit sharing program.
The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and may also vary depending on the market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
