About the role
We are seeking a dynamic, strategic, and entrepreneurial General Manager to lead Independent Solutions, based in our Eight Mile Plains office in Brisbane.
As a part of Vela Software Group and reporting directly to the Group Leader, the GM will be responsible for steering the company and its people towards its strategic objectives while ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction and operational excellence.
Supported by a global network of vertical specific software businesses and an industry-leading playbook methodology, this full-time, permanent role requires a leader with the strategic vision and experience to foster strong client relationships, drive innovation, and manage financial and operational performance.
Ideally suited to someone with experience and expertise in retail software and infrastructure corporate sales, FMCG and payment technologies, this is an exciting opportunity to take the reins of a major player in fuel and convenience retail across the region.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement strategic and operational plans to achieve business goals.
Set organizational objectives, policies, and programs, ensuring performance meets targets.
Build and lead a high-performing management team aligned with company values and objectives.
Foster a culture of excellence, innovation, and staff development leading Independent Solution's passionate team of experts.
Full ownership of commercials including oversee budgeting, compliance, and resource management, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure IS products and services meet world-class standards, focusing on quality, innovation and customer satisfaction.
Skills & Experience
Proven leadership experience, including managing teams delivering professional services.
Strong customer service orientation with a track record in professional environments.
Excellent relationship-building, negotiation, and communication skills tailored to all levels of business and stakeholders.
Analytical mindset with strong time management and problem-solving abilities.
Extensive knowledge of the retail IT industry, specifically with POS systems and payment technologies.
Relevant qualifications in IT and demonstrated success in a leadership role.
Energetic and flexible approach, with a commitment to excellence, innovation, team and customer success.
