: AU02038 : Contract Type: Permanent Full-Time shareOntwitter shareOnlinkedIn shareOnxing WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR About the Role RDA will be recruiting multiple qualified Painters throughout 2024 and beyond, either from automotive or industrial backgrounds.
As a Vehicle Painter at Rheinmetall Defence Australia, you will work as part of a team to prepare, paint and finish military vehicles and military components.
As a Vehicle Painter, you can anticipate some of your day-to-day tasks to include: Preparation, painting and quality checking of Rheinmetall vehicles and components following all relevant standards, work instructions and drawings; Undertake a wide range of paint preparation duties including grit blasting, sanding and masking; Maintain the Paint workshops, tools, and its equipment in accordance with health and safety requirements; Complete work documents and systems during and upon completion of work including in the SAP ERP; and Fulfil other duties and responsibilities that may be required as determined with your team leader from time to time.
About the Team Reporting to the Team Lead – Paint, you will be part of a team of six Painter's and Trades Assistant's, however the team will continue to grow throughout 2024 and beyond as production rates increase.
The Paint team forms part of the greater Production team which includes the Weld Shop, Prototype Shop, Assembly teams and Armour Shop.
This role will be based full time at our Military Vehicle Centre of Excellence in Redbank.

The experience and skillset best suited to this role include: Certificate III in Surface Preparation and Coating Application or Certificate III in Automotive Refinishing Technology; Experience in a Vehicle, Defence, or other heavy industry Painting role; Working knowledge of Paint technologies and standards relating to vehicle painting; Heavy Vehicle driving and operating licences (desirable); High Risk Work Licences including crane operation, forklift, elevated work platforms (desirable); First Aid certificate (desirable); and The ability to gain and hold the appropriate Australian Security Clearance (must be an Australian citizen).
