About the role: An exciting opportunity exists within the Victoria Police Impoundment Admin Unit for three (3) vehicle impoundment consultants to provide administrative support for the state-wide Vehicle Impoundment Program.
Vehicle Consultants coordinate the release and disposal of impounded motor vehicles, ensuring compliance with relevant legislations and policies (Road Safety Act 1986, Part 6A - Impoundment, immobilisation and forfeiture of motor vehicles). This includes supporting customers to process the release of their vehicles and maintaining accurate, up-to-date records. They will prepare reports, statements, and other documents to a Magistrates' Court, and liaise with key stakeholders (e.g., Informants, Magistrates' Courts, VicRoads, and contractors) to provide advice on procedures, and frameworks relating to the impoundment and forfeiture of motor vehicles.
To excel in this dynamic role, the ideal candidate will have experience working in a face-to-face customer-service administration role where you have demonstrated excellent verbal communication skills and workplace resilience. You will bring proficient computer literacy working with the Microsoft Suite and navigating record databases. Displaying an ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team environment driven by legislation compliance, your strong written communication skills and attention to detail are essential in preparing formal reports relating to investigations of impounded vehicles.

Your duties will include: Undertaking reception duties including customer service in person, over the phone and email Maintaining accurate information within a computer system for the tracking of vehicles, processes, and functions. Assisting customers with releasing vehicles in compliance with internal policy and Legislation. Consulting with internal and external stakeholders relating to impoundments, impound and forfeiture applications, traffic briefs, and court dates. Preparing letters and correspondence. Providing administrative assistance to other team members. Actively contributing to continuous improvement, workplace safety and staff well-being activities As the successful applicant, you will have: The ability to research, investigate and integrate database records for information. Proficient in computer systems and office equipment (E.g., Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word and Outlook and willingness to learn customised computer programs). Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Experience in a range of administrative duties and liaising with various stakeholders. High-level attention to detail as well as high-level accuracy with data entry and compliance. A sound understanding of workplace health and safety requirements and a commitment to workplace security. A strong commitment to Operational Infrastructure Department's strategy goals - supporting our people and embracing customer centricity, innovation and collaboration in our delivery of services.
