About the Role As a Vehicle Homologation Engineer, you will ensure compliance of vehicles and accessories with Australian regulations and standards, including the ADR (Australian Design Rules). You will work closely with manufacturers, regulatory authorities, and internal teams to manage certification processes, technical documentation, and regulatory updates. We are open to candidates who can work onsite from BYD's Sydney or Melbourne offices. Key Responsibilities: Homologation and Certification:Lead the certification process for vehicles and accessories under the Australian Design Rules (ADR).Oversee ANCAP crash testing and certification.Liaise with local and international regulatory authorities to obtain approvals.Handle RAV/NEVDIS submissions and evaluate vehicle import approvals.Regulatory Compliance:Interpret and apply Australian Design Rules and related legislation.Ensure all vehicles and components meet compliance before entering the market.Stay updated with changes to legislation and industry standards.Ensure vehicle infotainment complies with DPA legislation.Documentation and Reporting:Prepare, review, and submit technical documentation for homologation.Maintain records of certifications and compliance documents.Provide detailed reports on homologation status and regulatory changes.Stakeholder Management:Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and legal teams to address compliance issues.Serve as a liaison between manufacturers, test facilities, and regulators.Provide expert guidance on compliance risks and mitigation strategies.Training and Advisory:Educate internal teams on homologation processes and regulatory requirements.Advise on design modifications to meet Australian and New Zealand Standards.Qualifications and Skills: Education:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.Experience:Proven experience in vehicle homologation, certification, or compliance.Familiarity with ADRs and Australian vehicle legislation.Experience working with regulatory bodies such as the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, and Communications.Technical Skills:Strong understanding of vehicle systems and compliance testing methods.Proficiency in regulatory software and certification tools.Soft Skills:Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.Strong communication and negotiation skills.Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.Proficiency in the Chinese language would be an advantage.Preferred Qualifications: Experience with international homologation processes (e.g., UNECE, NCAP).Knowledge of electric and plug-in hybrid vehicle certification.Minimum 2 years of relevant automotive homologation experience.If you believe you are a good fit for the role, please don't hesitate to click on APPLY and submit your updated resume.
