The Opportunity:
Vehicle Body Builder for ongoing support provided by our comprehensive truck and trailer repair and maintenance department at our new state of the art workshop and facilities. This position will suit mechanical minded candidates with experience in mechanical fitting, fabricating, assembly and fit out of trailers.
Full-time permanent role. Monday – Friday local role. Penalties paid for overtime worked. Fortnightly tool allowance. Immediate start. Free Parking. The ideal candidate will be experienced with: Construct, assemble, and repair the body structures of trailers according to engineering blueprints and specifications. Perform welding tasks as required to join various components, ensuring structural integrity and strength. Customize trailers as per customer requirements, including installing doors, ramps, shelving, and other accessories. Conduct quality inspections at each stage of production to identify and rectify defects, ensuring compliance with safety and industry standards. Safely handle and transport materials, tools, and equipment required for the assembly process. To be considered you must have / be willing to obtain:
Trade qualification in fabrication, vehicle body building, or related field. Proven experience as a vehicle body builder or similar role in a manufacturing setting, preferably in trailer manufacturing. Proficient in welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and arc welding. Strong knowledge of reading and interpreting engineering blueprints and specifications. Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools effectively. 3-5 years' experience working with road transport (fabrication, repair, maintenance) (desirable).
