About this Position:The mechanics work in the Fleet Services team providing maintenance and servicing to a variety of plant, equipment and fleet to ensure it's maintained to keep our services and projects to the community going.
We are looking for people with a great attitude, who are invested in being part of the Lismore City Council team. We are looking for people who want a challenge and have a desire to contribute to the success of our community.
You'll be working in a 76 hour per fortnight, permanent role, that will primarily be based at our Brunswick Street Depot in Lismore. There is potential for a light vehicle mechanic to be upskilled into a heavy mechanic for the right candidate.
What we can offer youFinish at 4pm - that's right, we support you as our resident mechanics in maintaining a healthy work-life balance.Variety of work - every day is different in the workshop, we currently maintain and service approximately 300 items of plant, equipment and fleet for the organisation.Flexible work options working within operational requirements.Health & Wellbeing and Employee Assistance Programs.Training and development opportunities to build and maintain capabilities.What we trust you to deliverSafely undertake a range of duties to maintain and repair plant items, vehicles and mechanical equipment.Conduct safety checks on all plant used, complete basic maintenance and maintain records and reports to ensure the safe use of plant items.Solve routine problems that arise, referring to standard guidelines and manuals and collaborate with supervisors and managers to resolve complex problems to ensure risks are minimised and work goals are achieved.Demonstrate the positive behaviours to deliver great outcomes for our customers, our people and the wider communities.What you'll need to be successfulCertificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent.Current Construction Industry White card.Current Class C motor vehicle driver's license.Willingness to undertake any legislated or internal licensing or ticketing requirements as directed.Full position description: Click here
Full Time: 35 hours a week
Salary: $82833 + superannuation with potential call-out roster allowance.
