Overview:Full-time, Continuing Salary Teaching Level T2 – T5 plus 17% Superannuation and Flexible Working Arrangements Based at the Melbourne CBD campus, however, but may be required to work and/or be based at other campuses of the University About You As a VE Teacher in Engineering and Electro-Tech (Advanced Manufacturing and Mechatronics), your role is pivotal in shaping the next generation of skilled professionals.
You will be responsible for engaging students with dynamic course material, evaluating their progress through assessments, and providing guidance to those enrolled in selected courses within the Future Technologies cluster.
Your active involvement in the college's ongoing reviews of course content and teaching methods, including innovative online delivery techniques, is crucial for maintaining high educational standards.
You will also have the opportunity to collaborate with external organizations, industry groups, and RMIT teaching and administrative staff, enhancing both your professional network and the learning experience for your students.

To be successful in this position, you'll have: Expertise and proficiency in relevant computer programming languages and software commonly used in engineering, such as C, C++, Python, Java, MATLAB, Simulink, and Microsoft Office 365 Suite.
Demonstrated skills and knowledge in Manufacturing and Automation Systems, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), and CNC Machines.
Effective interpersonal and communication skills relevant to teaching and consultancy environments.
This includes effective presentation and facilitation skills, and in the use of flexible teaching methods.
Skills and experience in competency-based assessment.
Ability in ensuring current and contemporary vocational competence which meets and/or exceeds the education level being delivered and assessed.
Experience in relevant industry, and substantial discipline knowledge as it relates to this position.
Capacity to diagnose learning problems in students, propose and implement effective solutions.
Ability to contribute effectively as a constructive and proactive member of a team.
Qualifications VE Teachers appointed to a continuing position are required to meet all the following minimum standards.
Vocational Competencies: The appointee must hold a Bachelor's degree in Advanced Manufacturing & Mechatronics or Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
A Ph.D. in the relevant field is preferred.
Assessment and Delivery Competencies: The appointee must hold the TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment from the TAE10 Training and Education Training Package as a minimum qualification.
This consists of 10 units (7 core and 3 electives).
Candidates currently pursuing this qualification may also be considered.
Teaching Qualification: To appoint a teacher at a classification of Teacher 3.2 or above, the appointee must hold a professional teaching qualification, defined as a qualification at Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Level 5 Diploma or above which includes supervised teaching practice and studies in teaching methodology or equivalent qualification accepted by the University.
Currently, the qualification that RMIT recognises and supports is the TAE50111 Diploma of VET.
Please Note: Appointment for this position is subject to passing a Working with Children Check and other checks as required by the specific role.
Maintaining a valid Working with Children Check is a condition of employment at RMIT.
