The Role
As a Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 in SESLHD you will provide individualised, case managed complex patient/client care and leadership for the Public Health Unit, to maximise health outcomes for the patient/client. You will exercise extended autonomy of decision making and professional knowledge and judgement in providing complex care requiring advanced clinical skills.
Some of the key functions of your role will be:
Support the VaxConnect Program by working with clinical teams and the Public Health Unit to identify adults (outpatients and inpatients) due for vaccination, obtain consent and vaccinate according to National Immunisation Program recommendations.Support SESLHD clinical services to develop sustainable models of care to keep their patients up to date with their vaccination.Referral to other services and carer support/education, according to need are also essential aspects of the position.Provide direction, guidance and feedback to all clinical staff in relation to the VaxConnect program.

Up to $9K for living expenses and $2.6K meal & entertainment & Novated Leasing.Discounted gym memberships with a Fitness Passport.Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for employees and family members.Discounted Private Health Insurance.Opportunity to apply for Continuing Education allowance based on tertiary qualifications attained where applicable.Opportunity to obtain Clinical Nurse Specialist status where relevant.Selection Criteria Registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse/Midwife and current NSW Driver's License and willingness to travel as required in role, along with training and experience in vaccination services to meet the NSW Authorised Registered Nurse/Midwife Vaccination Standards.Relevant post-registration qualifications and at least 3 years' experience working in immunisation/public health, or such other qualifications or equivalent experience deemed appropriate.Demonstrated ability to manage complex clinical care and service delivery issues and problem solve through the development and use of clinical management plans.Demonstrated ability to exercise extended autonomy of decision making while working as part of a multidisciplinary team and apply professional and ethical boundaries when dealing with complex situations.Demonstrated skills in the development and facilitation of patient and carer education; and ability to mentor and coach nursing staff to enhance professional development.Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills and the ability to identify key messages, issues and concerns when communicating with others.Demonstrated experience in leading and initiating activities to improve clinical service delivery and patient clinical outcomes.Demonstrated competence in the use of health-related information technology.Need more information?
