Be part of the ground-breaking Commonwealth program, responsible for the decommissioning of the Northern Endeavour and work with other people committed to tackling this unprecedented challenge for the Australian Government.
Our branch is on a mission to decommission the Northern Endeavour – a 274m long floating production storage and offtake (FPSO) facility that is permanently moored between the Laminaria and Corallina oil fields, approximately 550km northwest of Darwin in the Timor Sea.
To decommission the facility safely and effectively and protect the environment, the program of work is broken into three phases.
Phase 1: decommissioning and disconnecting the FPSO from the subsea equipment, temporarily suspending the wells, and towing and disposal of the FPSO.
Phase 2: permanent plugging and abandoning the wells.
Phase 3: removing the subsea infrastructure and remediating the Laminaria and Corallina oil fields.
The opportunity We are seeking candidates to fill multiple vacancies across a variety of teams within the Northern Endeavour Branch, including: Phase 1 and FPSO Recycling Delivery Team Regulatory Compliance Team Program Management Office (PMO)  What's in it for you?

What you will do The Northern Endeavour Branch is seeking to fill a variety of roles at the Executive Level 1.
As a Project Manager at the Executive Level 1 , dependent on team placement, you will: Shape strategic thinking by coordinating project activities, including strategic planning, governance, human resources, and problem solving.
Achieve results by building team capabilities and responsiveness, including supporting team supervision as required.
Marshall professional project management expertise in a rapidly changing and challenging environment.
Engage internal and external stakeholders and build relationships (written and verbal).
Draft written materials including Ministerial briefings and project related documentation.
Work to ambitious project delivery scope timelines and support project delivery.
Develop various project/program artefacts (document writing).
Undertake general administrative duties, including reporting and governance.
Exercise both initiative and judgement in applying project management practices and procedures.
As a Senior Regulatory Compliance Officer at the Executive Level 1, you will: Prepare and apply for the relevant regulatory approvals/permits required for the decommissioning activities.
Monitor and deliver regulatory tasks in accordance with the program schedule, including timeframes and critical path.
Manage risk assessment and risk management activities for regulatory submissions.
Provide support to a variety of stakeholder forums, including regulators and subject matter experts.
Plan and monitor for meeting regulatory obligations and approval conditions.
Support team supervision including APS Staff and / or contract staff.
Support the development of branch implementation plans and associated key activities to meet team outcomes.
As an Assistant Manager in the Commercial Team , you will: Lead procurement planning, tendering and contract management and assurance activities.
Ensure compliance with Commonwealth procurement requirements, including legislative, financial and administrative frameworks, government decision-making processes and Departmental guidelines and regulations.
Undertake risk assessment and risk management activities.
Monitor project outcomes and analyse against budget specifications.
Undertake data analysis to support responses to very complex procurement and commercial enquiries.
Review and advise on improvements to policies and procedures to support the program's objectives.
Build and sustain productive working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholder groups.
Assist with the preparation of briefings and senate estimate packs for executive stakeholders.
Assist with financial management for the Branch.
As an Assistant Manager in the Program Management Office , you will: Report on program status, outcomes and risks to internal and external stakeholders.
Draft, review and clear executive briefs.
Plan and monitor project management work processes within the team, direct and coordinate quality assurance practices and set performance indicators.
Support Branch governance bodies and assurance processes.
Support continuous improvement to ensure that resources support the agency.
Support the development of Branch implementation plans and associated key activities.
Build capability through coaching team members.
Providing performance feedback, conflict resolution and encouraging career development.
Eligibility To be eligible for employment in the APS and the department, candidates must be Australian Citizens.
Positions require a Baseline security clearance, and successful candidates will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level.
