About the team Ready to set sail on an extraordinary career journey?
Be part of the ground-breaking Commonwealth program, responsible for the decommissioning of the Northern Endeavour and work with other people committed to tackling this unprecedented challenge for the Australian Government.
Our branch is on a mission to decommission the Northern Endeavour – a 274m long floating production storage and offtake (FPSO) facility that is permanently moored between the Laminaria and Corallina oil fields, approximately 550km northwest of Darwin in the Timor Sea.
To decommission the facility safely and effectively and protect the environment, the program of work is broken into three phases.
Phase 1: decommissioning and disconnecting the FPSO from the subsea equipment, temporarily suspending the wells, and towing and disposal of the FPSO; Phase 2: permanent plugging and abandoning the wells; and Phase 3: removing the subsea infrastructure and remediating the Laminaria and Corallina oil fields.
The opportunity We are seeking candidates to fill multiple vacancies across a variety of teams within the Northern Endeavour Branch, including: Phase 1 and FPSO Recycling Team Phase 2/3 Planning Team Regulatory Compliance Team Commercial Team Program Management Office (PMO).

What you will do The Northern Endeavour Branch is seeking to fill a variety of roles at the APS 6 Level.
As a Project Support Officer in a project delivery team, dependent on the team placement, you will: Develop various project/program artefacts as well as reports and executive briefs.

Provide project delivery support and advice.
Provide governance and reporting services.
Be responsible for general administrative duties.
Have the opportunity to exercise both initiative and judgement in applying project management practices and procedures.
Be responsible for moderate to complex problem solving as issues arise.
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
Manage projects with limited supervision.
Provide support in relation to procurement, financial management and general administrative support tasks as required.
As a Regulatory Compliance Officer , you will: Contribute to regulatory and compliance activities including providing support to develop a regulatory compliance strategy.
Prepare applications for regulatory approvals.
Support external stakeholder engagement and communication activities and maintain robust record keeping systems.
Research and identify legal requirements, providing regulatory advice to colleagues and identifying opportunities for improvement.
Work autonomously under limited supervision while managing changing priorities.
As a Commercial Officer, you will: Assist with developing sound commercial advice to support improved outcomes for procurement and contracting activities.
Ensure compliance with Commonwealth procurement frameworks, including legislative, financial and administrative frameworks, government decision-making processes and agency guidelines and regulations.
Ensure quality outputs for a team including the development of specialist, professional and/or technical expertise.
Conduct regular quality assurance of work area processes and manage identified risks.
Perform research and analysis to make decisions that involve complex or escalated issues, longer-term planning and liaison with other sections on policy, project or operational issues.
Build and maintain working relationships through effective relationship management, including engaging with stakeholders, to help manage expectations and concerns.
Commit to high quality outcomes on time, thrive in a fast-paced environment and ensure high standards for accuracy and detail.
As a Program Support Officer in the Program Management Office, you will: Perform secretariat functions for governance bodies, including preparations associated with booking meetings, completing draft agendas and minutes and following up on identified actions.
Perform and achieve procedural, operational, administrative and business support work in line with the Branch and Departmental frameworks and processes.
Provide administrative assistance to members of the team.
Assist in project management including developing reporting requirements and project management reports.
Support the Assistant Manager and Manager with creation and implementation of governance arrangements.
Undertake risk assessment and risk management activities for projects and the program including complex risk analysis.
Assist with schedule management.
Draft executive briefs.
Support continuous improvement to ensure that resources support the Branch.
Engage and consult with broad range of stakeholders across the Branch and Department as required.
Foster collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support members of the Branch to deliver against strategic priorities.
Provide support to uplift Branch program management maturity and capability.
Eligibility To be eligible for employment in the APS and the department, candidates must be Australian Citizens.
Positions require a Baseline security clearance and successful candidates will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level.
Notes A merit pool may be established and used to fill future vacancies within 18 months from the date the vacancy was first advertised in the Gazette.
The department does currently offer flexible work opportunities for many roles.
These vacancies are Canberra, Brisbane and Perth based although flexible or remote work arrangements may be considered.
