In this role, you will be supporting the Appointed Actuary and the valuation team with statutory financial and capital reporting requirements by performing several key steps in the valuation process.Your Key ResponsibilitiesMaintenance and improvement of data preparation process for actuarial models.Contributing to the management and validation of modelling data, ensuring its accuracy and integrity for calculations.Running and maintenance of existing actuarial models with the aim of assisting the business to streamline the use of legacy systems.Regulatory and management reporting under various accounting and capital regimes including generation of cash flow projections on the various bases.Assisting with the update of best estimate assumptions and the impact assessments of proposed changes.Managing budget and forecasting for reserves and profitability under USGAAP and IFRS17 reporting.Assisting with the quarterly capital calculations and updating required inputs.Monitoring of individual client company results.Maintaining knowledge of current market trends, including life industry reporting requirements.Contribution to valuation projects, including process improvement and other ad-hoc projects that arise from time to time.Your ProfileEssentialQualified Actuary with a minimum of five (5) years of actuarial experience, preferably in a valuation role.Advanced GGY Axis modelling capabilities.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, R and SQL.Experience with USGAAP, AASB17 and Solvency II reporting requirements.Detailed knowledge and understanding of the insurance and reinsurance industry.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work independently but collaboratively in a small local team while interacting and working closely with teams across the Global organisation.Being able to contribute to and promote a positive and supportive culture, with the ability to deliver work efficiently, show initiative and with a commitment to quality.DesiredExperience with Mo.Net and/or Prophet advantageous.Experience with IFRS17 modelling in SAS also advantageous.We offer aHybrid working model (60/40 Office/Home).Highly professional and inclusive working environment that values excellence, integrity, personal responsibility, and diversity.Excellent compensation and benefits.Flat corporate structure with a strong team ethic.Support for your personal and professional development.Does this sound exciting?If you want to shape your future with us, we look forward to receiving your application via our website Gen Re.ContactHuman ResourcesOur AddressGeneral Reinsurance Life Australia Ltd.Level 201 O'Connell StreetSydney, NSW 2000 (Australia) ABN 73 002 166 869
