About the roleThe Digital Collections Analyst works within the Digital Curation team to develop and support workflows and processes for the acquisition and ongoing stewardship of born-digital collection material across the Library.
Key accountabilities include:
Collaboratively develop policies, guidelines, business rules, processes and procedures for acquiring, managing, preserving and providing access to digital collection material, and prepare reports, briefings, issues papers and statistics to inform decision-making.Providing direct support to Library staff for the acquisition of born-digital material, including liaising with suppliers/owners of digital material and ensuring born-digital acquisitions meet appropriate specifications and guidelines.Preparing born-digital material for ingestion into the digital preservation system and troubleshooting and monitoring ingestion of these assets to meet regular workflow cycles and agreed deadlines.Test, document, and support the use of equipment and software for digital curation activities in the Digital Preservation Lab.Assist the Lead Digital Archivist in communicating knowledge and the importance of digital preservation through training and workshops, ensuring all staff have sufficient knowledge relevant to their roles to enable the Library to develop and maintain robust digital collections.Term: Temporary full-time role up to 30 June 2022 with a possibility of extension.
About youKey knowledge and experience:Applied knowledge of international standards and best practice relating to preservation of digital materials in a library or archive environment including metadata, file formats, and technical specifications.Experience in the use of collection management systems, web-based technologies, and databases for ongoing stewardship of born-digital collections.Capacity to work effectively with software tools used in digital preservation workflows.Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated experience managing born-digital collections.#J-18808-Ljbffr
