A Day in the Life of a Product Manager - Student Administration at UTS Lead both strategic planning and day-to-day operations, overseeing system strategy development and implementation while ensuring smooth daily functionality and user support. Craft and communicate a clear product vision aligned with strategic objectives and customer needs. Manage the product strategy, roadmap, and backlog, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and priorities. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into actionable user stories and features. Lead cross-functional squads in the end-to-end product development lifecycle, ensuring timely and quality delivery. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess product success and identify areas for improvement. Manage product budgets, ensuring financial accountability and addressing financial risks. Facilitate collaboration between technical and non-technical teams, resolving dependencies and ensuring effective communication. What You'll Need to Succeed Experience in higher education is strongly preferred including detailed knowledge of student administrative processes, the annual calendar of events and government audit and compliance processes. Experience managing system lifecycles including enterprise platform upgrades especially TechOne SaaS. Proven experience in product management within a SAFe Agile environment, with a strong understanding of software development lifecycles. Demonstrated ability to gather requirements, develop roadmaps, and prioritize features aligned with product strategy. Outstanding interpersonal skills to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Strong consultative skills to align solutions with clients' business objectives and strategic goals. Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a knack for generating innovative ideas. Strong written and verbal communication skills for conveying technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences. Relevant tertiary qualification and extensive experience in product management, preferably in the higher education sector.
