Our mission drives us, and we want you to be part of the journey.About the OpportunityOperating from within the Utilities Department, you will lead the Utilities network team and be responsible for operational and maintenance delivery ensuring that high standards of performance, safety, environmental and customer service standards are met to support the provision of water, wastewater and gas services across the Western Downs.This position can be based at any of our major regional centres (Dalby/Chinchilla/Tara/Miles and Wandoan).You will be:Leading the operation and routine maintenance of the region's water, sewerage and gas network assets to ensure efficient and safe operation in accordance with organisational, drinking water quality management and environmental licence condition objectives.Identifying and managing risks associated with maintaining continuous Utilities network operations, implementing mitigation strategies as needed.Overseeing the development, implementation and continual improvement of operational standards, safety and emergency response.Ensuring compliance with all relevant policies, regulations, and standards in the water and sewerage sectors.This role is full time, working 38 hours per week with a fortnightly RDO.About yourselfA person in this position will need to hold a relevant Diploma in Water Industry Operations or a Diploma in a related field OR be able to demonstrate equivalent related experience.
It is also highly desirable for the successful candidate to have;In-depth understanding of water industry as it relates to standards, operations, maintenance and risk mitigation with a focus on water, wastewater and gas network services.Proficiency in using relevant software and technology for utilities management, data analysis, and reporting.Knowledge of emergency response protocols and experience in managing incidents.WH&S Construction Safety Induction White CardOpen C Class Driver's LicenceMandatory Vaccinations (or a valid and verifiable contraindication) are to be evidenced when requested by Council.The benefits working for WDRC:Work / life balanceWe understand the importance of balance.
