Employed by a Tier 1 Construction Constructor. Working on major Sydney Water critical water main infrastructure projects in the western suburbs of Sydney. Multiple office locations in the western suburbs such as Sydney Olympic Park, Prospect Dam Offices, and other satellite office across the west. Work as part of a 10-year full cycle program – covering Design, Construction, and Maintenance of water and wastewater assets. The Opportunity The West Region Delivery Team are working on Sydney Water's critical infrastructure to deliver design, construction, maintenance, and facility management services over a ten (10) year period. The program is across water, wastewater and recycled water systems extending from Sydney's Inner West suburbs out to the Blue Mountains including the Western Sydney Growth Area and part of the Northwest Growth Centre.
Due to new projects and an increased forward workbook, we are seeking an experienced Utilities Draftsperson to be part of the West Region Delivery Team.
Reporting to the Survey Manager, you will play a key role in developing our inhouse utility mapping, drafting and work-as-executed capability to support the construction delivery teams.
You will be responsible for: Coordinating and managing our utilities details and location data in various forms of data management and display to support our construction teams. Establishing best practices for the management of utilities survey data and rolling out our processes and procedures in this respect. Maintain accurate records of all project drawings and revisions. To own and develop the startup of a new support function within an established team. What you will need: At least 5-7 years' experience in a similar role. Experience in drafting a variety of survey submissions such as details, asbuilt/WAE plots, Utility and Potholing plots. Strong knowledge and experience with ArcGIS. Proficiency in CAD software (e.g Civil 3D and 12d). Experience in ArcGIS, processing, and management of attributed survey data into the ArcGIS server. Ability to create new drafting templates from the ground up in compliance with local, state and federal regulations. This may include but are not limited to creation of title block/frames and other key drafting components. Familiarity with local, state, and federal regulations related to civil infrastructure projects. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in drafting and design work. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Valid driver's license and willingness to conduct site visits as needed. General Construction Induction (White Card).
