Urban Planner

Our established Wollongong Planning team is looking for an Urban Planner to join us on a permanent basis.
This role will provide technical planning expertise.
You will have the opportunity to contribute to multi-disciplinary project teams and also work independently as an urban planner on your own projects.
Successful candidates will be developed in a professional and personal sense and provided with an opportunity to forge a challenging and rewarding career path in a successful consultancy.
Our team works on a range of land development, infrastructure, and strategic planning projects across New South Wales.
Day to day tasks would involve: Prepare and manage site suitability reports, development applications, and Rezoning Amendments on behalf of clients.
Undertake planning-related duties on a range of project types.
Provide mentoring and informal guidance to junior-level staff, may assist in assigning tasks, providing coaching, and reviewing reports.
Work effectively with individuals of diverse disciplines in a cooperative and supportive manner to achieve and meet client expectations.
Complete all work in line with Stantec's Core Values and in accordance with Stantec's Quality Systems and Project Quality Procedures.
Deliver excellence to internal and external clients and their communities.
Contribute to multi-disciplinary project teams and work independently as a planning project manager.
Business Development – prepare fee proposals and quotes for clients.
Project Management – ensure projects are delivered to budget and scope.

Minimum Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications in Urban and Regional Planning, Urban Design; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
Proficient in urban planning research, data analysis, and report writing.
Comprehensive knowledge of the NSW Planning system and legislation.
Experience in statutory and/or strategic planning.
Relevant knowledge of Australian standards and legislation.
Self-motivated and self-directed.
Interest in working on a broad variety of projects.
Strong verbal and written communication skills to liaise with the team, managers, and clients.
