Do you have experience in a field supervisory role delivering projects? About the role Reporting to the Coordinator Construction, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day work of the drainage work crews and guiding them to ensure work is efficiently and safely delivered in accordance with Council's works program.

Responsibilities include: Ensuring works are undertaken to documented procedures and in accordance with quality standards; Collecting, collating and providing information for reporting, and producing accurate and timely reports as required; Undertaking regular site inspections to ensure all areas comply with relevant health and safety standards, taking immediate action as required to mitigate potential risks to staff; Leading and supervising team members through training and feedback, to encourage and develop internal capabilities. Who are we looking for? A motivated and enthusiastic leader, you have contemporary knowledge and experience in construction, maintenance and improvement works including the installation of drainage structures according to approved work plans and schedules.
You are experienced in delivering excellence through your team, and an expert in achieving targets and meeting deadlines.
You have exceptional communication skills and a track record of leading and supporting staff.

HOURS OF WORK The majority of Council's salaried staff is employed on a 9-day fortnight of 70 hours per pay period. Council's wages staff works a 9-day fortnight of 76 hours per pay period.
PAY ARRANGEMENTS Employees are paid on a fortnightly basis with the pay being deposited directly into an account nominated by the employee.
LEAVE PROVISIONS All leave provisions are in accordance with the current Local Government (State) Award and all relevant federal legislation.
TELEPHONE Should Council require the position holder to be contactable for out of hour's emergencies and Council business, Council will provide a mobile phone under the current Council usage plan.
SUPERANNUATION Superannuation is available to employees through their current or any approved fund of the employee's choice.
