Bluestone Furniture & Upholstery is a family owned and run business specialising in high-end local manufacturing, from antique furniture restoration, contemporary bespoke and custom-made designer pieces, to large commercial projects.
We are based in Blackburn (VIC 3130) and require an experienced upholster to fill a full-time position (40 hours a week).
About your skills and experience:

Experience with different styles of upholstery.
Read and interpret upholstery specifications and drawings to determine materials, tools and techniques required for each job.
Taking patterns from furniture, cutting and sewing fabric to size.
Stripping fabric, webbing and padding from old furniture.
Design and assemble frames suitable for commercial use and specifications.
Install webbing, springs, and other upholstery related fittings suitable for commercial use.
Attaching studs, trims, braids and buttons.
Managing and maintaining efficient stock levels to best achieve business outcomes.
Managing and maintaining work area site cleanliness.
Communicating and liaising with other team members to ensure you have all that is required to fulfill the project.
Where required, assist in the training of apprentice or trades assistants.
Qualifications and Experience
3 years demonstrated experience as an upholsterer.
Familiarity with various upholstery techniques, materials, and tools.
Significant experience with upholstery repairs.
Hands on experience assembling furniture.
Extensive power tool experience.
Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and learning.
A positive attitude with a willingness to learn new things.
Salary offered: $70,000 to $75,000 + Superannuation.
