Exciting opportunity for a mid-career academic with specialist expertise in medical education and assessment and its application to the Sydney Medical Program
Base Salary from $ 150,461 (pro-rata) + 17% superannuation
About the opportunity Formed in 1856, Sydney Medical School is the oldest medical school in Australia. It accommodates around 1200 medical students undertaking a four-year graduate-entry Doctor of Medicine program, with an innovative, clinical immersed curriculum (MD2020).
The successful candidate will be an academic and medical clinician with demonstrated experience and expertise in assessment within medical programs, with knowledge and understanding of designing, developing, and delivering clinical and non-clinical assessments within a system of programmatic assessment. The role will report to the Academic Lead Assessment.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
Assist with the design and implementation of innovative programs for written and clinical assessment in the Sydney Medical Program (Doctor of Medicine), in liaison with academic, clinical, and professional staff.
Ensure the validity and reliability of the Sydney MD program.
Provide timely feedback to students and teaching staff to assist in learning and improve the education process.
Be a senior member of a team of academic and professional staff focused on assessment and evaluation of the Sydney MD program.
Undertake and publish research in medical education and assessment.
About you: Possess a relevant higher degree (Masters degree or PhD) in a relevant discipline.
Demonstrate evidence of successful innovation in curriculum development and delivery of assessment tools in the Sydney Medical program.
Demonstrate knowledge around statistical analysis of written assessments in a postgraduate medical program.
Demonstrate ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary educational team focused on improving the content, organization, and delivery of an existing graduate medical program.
Demonstrate commitment and capacity to implement equal employment opportunity/affirmative action policies.
