Prepare graduates for workforce through innovative teachingEngage in research activities & foster external partnershipsFull-time, ongoing position, based in LauncestonAbout the Opportunity As part of the Allied Health Expansion Program in the School of Health Sciences at the University of Tasmania, we are looking to appoint both a Lecturer, a Senior Lecturer or an Associate Professor in Speech Pathology.
Lecturer in Speech Pathology: In this role, you will collaborate and lead interprofessional learning activities, deliver clinical speech pathology assessments and interventions within the University's health training sites. While the position includes a research portfolio, the main emphasis will be on teaching and clinical practice.
Senior Lecturer or Associate Professor in Speech Pathology: Your primary focus will be providing high-quality education in Speech Pathology, ensuring students receive comprehensive and up-to-date training. You'll collaborate with colleagues across disciplines to lead and participate in interprofessional learning activities, conduct clinical speech pathology assessments and interventions within the University's health training sites, and foster and maintain relevant relationships with external partners to enhance the University's impact and reach. Additionally, you will incorporate a research portfolio, contributing to the advancement of knowledge in your field.

What's Required Clinical expertise with recency or currency in speech pathology practice.Demonstrated achievement in University level curriculum development using flexible and innovative blended learning & teaching andragogy employing practical demonstration, simulation-based education, and digital technologies.Evident or demonstrated experience delivering high quality coursework learning & teaching including unit coordination, quality assurance reviews, and best practice assessment targeted to course learning outcomes.Demonstrated experience in facilitating quality work-integrated learning (WIL) experience for students that has scaffolded, connected and supported pedagogical experience.Highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills, with a record of contributing to building and maintaining effective and productive links locally and nationally with the discipline, profession, industry, and the wider community.Commitment to impactful research that makes a worthwhile contribution to the field of allied health, demonstrated by a record of quality publications, presentations at conferences, and translating evidence to practice and/or curriculum.Demonstrated commitment to the professional development of self and activities supporting the allied health professions.Qualifications and Licenses Completion of a qualifying degree in Speech Pathology and membership with Speech Pathology Australia (SPA).Completion of a Master degree in a relevant health discipline.Clinical expertise with recency or currency in speech pathology practice.Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor – Academic Level C or D A PhD or equivalent in a relevant field.Completion of a qualifying degree in Speech Pathology and membership with Speech Pathology Australia (SPA).Clinical expertise with recency or currency in speech pathology practice.What's on Offer? Salary details Appointment to these roles will be at Academic Level B/C/E and will have a total remuneration package of up to $203,695 comprising base salary within the range of $110,992 to $174,098 plus 17% superannuation. Relocation support may be offered to the ideal candidate.
