At the forefront of cancer control, Professor Karen Canfell and her team play a pivotal role in supporting policy, practice and decision-making for innovative cancer solutions.
In collaboration with the U.S. National Cancer Institute's CISNET-Cervical initiative and the NHMRC Centre of Research Excellence in Cervical Cancer Control, our research continues to lead the way in cancer screening, policy impact, and the prevention of major cancers.
A key partner in the WHO Cervical Cancer Elimination Modelling Consortium (CCEMC) , the team's work on the economic benefits and impact of cervical cancer elimination is cited in the World Health Organization's strategic plan.
Your key responsibilities will be to: conduct basic data analysis and prepare preliminary reports-including data cleaning and handling, modelling and reporting
assist in the data preparation for internal surveys and understand the significance of external submissions
assist in data collection activities and ensure compliance with set guidelines
facilitate ongoing communication with a broad range of stakeholders, proactively addressing any concerns
coordinate with the team to produce quality reports, verify data accuracy within university systems
liaise with the research team regarding study progress and regularly communicate updates to the Chief Investigator
process regular purchasing and payment activities, ensuring timely and accurate invoice management
undertake ad-hoc projects and other activities relevant to the research activities.
About you tertiary qualifications – Biostatistics required or an equivalent combination of relevant training and experience
experience with large data sources and complex data sets ideally related to health sector and cancer screening
experienced in the creation of detailed statistical reports, and contributing to both narrative and data visualisation outputs
familiarity with data privacy requirements and managing appropriate governance of sensitive health data
competent in a range of statistical methods
experience with data analysis of administratively linked healthcare data
experience utilising analytics platforms and developing actionable recommendations including SQL and SAS
experience analysing and providing insights on complex quantitative and qualitative data
demonstrated ability to manage workload and deliver agreed outputs for external stakeholders within agreed timelines and scope
excellent verbal and written communication skills including confidence in presentation of data analysis and reports to team and stakeholders.
