As the Asset Accountant you will:
Manage and maintain accurate fixed asset registers and project master records for the University and its controlled entities. Ensure alignment with accounting standards, University policies, and external reporting requirements through meticulous analysis, reconciliation, and reporting. Perform key asset accounting tasks, including capitalisation, transfers, revaluations, depreciation, and write-offs. Oversee financial aspects of capital and research projects, ensuring timely creation, monitoring, and reporting of income and expenditure. Assist with physical asset tracking activities such as stocktakes and valuations, ensuring compliance with University standards. Identify and mitigate financial risks through robust governance and risk management practices. Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and value for the University. This continuing position is full time at a HEW 6 Higher Education Level located at Callaghan Campus.

The remuneration for this position is pro-rated from $90,316 - $99,655 p.a. + superannuation and is commensurate with skills and experience. About the Unit Under the leadership of the Chief Financial Officer, Financial Services aims to be an enabler of strategy through providing high-quality financial services and products that respond to the changing needs of the business and financial governance and provide tangible and measurable value to the University. Financial Services covers Corporate Accounting and Treasury, Financial Planning and Reporting, Finance Business Support & Advisory, and Procure to Pay.

Experience and expertise in the application of Accounting standards and practices, including proficiently in the use of accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to deliver innovative solutions.
Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills, including an ability to communicate technical matters to non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to build strong relationships, and to work collaboratively across disciplines on organization-wide initiatives.
Demonstrated organisation skills including the ability to work within deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
Knowledge of, and experience in adhering to workplace policies and procedures in the areas of work.
