Why Your Role Matters: The Category Manager provides end-to-end category management focusing on the Estates Management and Research Medical Category. The role is responsible for developing and implementing category/sub-category management strategies and leading high complexity strategic sourcing events to capture sustainable benefits for the University.
Responsibilities: Be a trusted commercial advisor deriving value whilst meeting operational needs. Identify and manage commercial, contractual, operational, financial, reputational, ethical and supply chain risks. Secure procurement benefits, identify future opportunities and sourcing pipelines. Manage the commercial business relationship with suppliers. Optimise the supply base through leveraging solutions for key spend and categories. Continually analyse, review and monitor total spend. Demonstrate strong influencing capabilities with internal and external stakeholders. Who You Are: Advanced analytical expertise with robust critical reasoning. Experience in strategic sourcing, category management and procurement. A passion for delivering commercially astute outcomes. Excellent customer service skills, with exceptional verbal and written communication. Proven ability to work in a team environment. Demonstrated strong influencing, communication and negotiation skills. Ability to think resourcefully in order to maximise value to the University.
