We are looking for a University Guidance Counsellor for an international school located in Zhuhai.
This is a full-time position starting from the upcoming academic year in August 2023.

The University Guidance Counsellor is a crucial part of the student journey, supporting them in career and university planning.
They collaborate with relevant departments to understand student ambitions and goals, provide personalized assistance to students and families, and contribute to the professional development of teachers and workshops for parents.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in the School community.
Responsibilities include:
Assist students in making realistic and informed college choicesSupport successful college applications for each studentEnhance the school's reputation in higher educationEducate students and parents about universities, majors, admissions, and testingProvide personalized counseling for students in Year 10 - Year 13Facilitate meetings between university representatives and studentsMaintain accurate student records and write school recommendationsContribute to careers counseling and coordinate eventsInform teachers about the application processSupport students with online applications and preparationAssist with clearing and final admissions processesParticipate in student and parent activitiesMaintain records of admissions decisions and dataCollaborate with other counselors to improve practicesContribute to school and co-curricular activitiesPerform additional duties as assigned by the Line Manager
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in relevant subject areaMaster's degree an advantageMinimum 5 years' experience in similar filedFamiliarity with and understanding of recent developments in higher educationAt least two years successful experience in an international school settingStrong understanding and knowledge of the admission system to colleges, especially in the US and UK but also in Canada, Australia, Korea, Hong Kong and other European and Asian popular with studentsUnderstanding of and experience working with non-native English-speaking students and parentsComplete fluency in English (equivalent to mother tongue), Bi-lingual is preferredOrganizational and management skills in education and classroom settings
