Universal Cranes is a privately owned family business that operates mobile crane hire branches throughout Queensland and New South Wales. We have a fleet of 200 cranes ranging from 3T to 1200T, including minicranes, Frannas, all-terrains and crawler cranes. Universal Cranes began as a family crane hire business in 1993 and has grown to become a national crane hire company. We pride ourselves on maintaining a family business service culture while providing our clients with a national high-capacity fleet.
The Roma branch of Universal Cranes has been serving the local crane hire market for over 10 years, earning a strong reputation. Our fleet includes 8-10 mobile cranes, 4 trucks, and a dedicated local team of 13 personnel.
Reporting to the Roma Branch Manager, the qualifications and experience required are as below.
REQUIRED: A minimum of 3 years' demonstrated experience rigging and/or operation for a range of mobile cranes including pick and carry cranes, city cranes, All Terrain Cranes (i.e. with lattice fly configurations). Relevant tickets / Licence e.g. Basic Rigging Ticket (RB), Dogging (DG), Heavy Rigid truck Licence (HR), Elevated Work Platform (EWP), Forklift Licence, Working at Heights Ticket, Crane Licence (C0), (C6), (CN). Heavy Combination (HC) or Multi Combination (MC) truck license. Willingness to travel and work for 1 to 13 days providing crane and transport services for gas field and construction projects in the wider Roma region. Availability for irregular hours (early starts, late finishes, night shifts, weekend work) as expected in a crane hire business. Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively. Demonstrated experience as a positive team contributor. Professionalism in on-site presentation and communication with customers. Maturity and ability to deal with multi-site, multi-cultural teams. Prior experience in the mobile crane hire business. PREFERRED: Prior experience on shutdowns in the Roma region. Availability to travel for short durations (Intermediate Rigging ticket an advantage. Successful candidates will also be subject to the ability to pass pre-employment Medical and Drug & Alcohol Testing.
