Senior Manager Risk, Compliance and Safeguarding Provide strategic leadership and oversight of risk, compliance, safeguarding and quality excellence at Uniting WA.
About the role
Leading the Risk, Compliance and Safeguarding Team, this role will provide strategic leadership and oversight of safeguarding, quality, risk and compliance to increase Uniting's overall capability, improve operational efficiencies, and embed a culture of safeguarding, quality excellence, continuous improvement and innovation through monitoring and evaluation.
This role is also responsible for embedding a culture of proactive risk management across all levels of the organisation in line with Uniting WA's business and strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Provide strategic leadership to ensure an integrated approach to risk management, compliance, and safeguarding through established frameworks.
Review and develop organisational strategies, systems, policies and processes, including internal audit processes, that promote a culture of safeguarding, quality excellence and proactive risk management.
Ensure compliance with internal and external obligations while driving great outcomes beyond compliance.
Advise senior management on critical risks and mitigation strategies.
Lead organisational safeguarding initiatives for children and vulnerable adults.
Oversee internal and external audit processes and foster continuous improvement through monitoring of action plans and risk mitigation plans.
Oversee contracts management systems and processes, and the annual insurance renewal process.
Provide high-level reports to the Board and attend Board committee meetings as required.
Mentor and lead the Risk, Compliance & Safeguarding team to deliver organisational excellence.
About you
You are a proactive leader with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
You build trusted relationships, inspire collaboration, and deliver innovative solutions.
You are a seasoned professional with:
Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline.
5–7 years of experience in a senior role within community services, health, or similar sectors.
Proven leadership in safeguarding, risk management and compliance.
Demonstrated quality and business improvement knowledge and experience in internal and external auditing, process re-engineering and compliance.
Strong understanding of safeguarding children and NDIS frameworks, best practice, and relevant regulatory standards.
Prioritises the best interests and safety of every person receiving services.
Exceptional skills in leadership, communication, and problem-solving.
Commitment to fostering a proactive risk culture and achieving impactful outcomes.
Eligibility to work in Australia, along with NDIS Worker Screening, Working with Children Check, and a valid WA Driver's Licence.
