UniSC is seeking exceptional educators and researchers to fill two Associate Professor in Teacher Education and Discipline Lead positions within the School of Education and Tertiary Access.
These roles focus on advancing UniSC's mission to enrich communities, connect with people, and create opportunities through education.

As a leader in teacher education, you will contribute to the discipline through innovative research, teaching, and community engagement.
You will specialise in either Early Childhood and Primary Education or Secondary and Outdoor Education , driving progress and cultivating a positive academic environment.

You will:
Develop a clear research agenda, secure competitive grants, publish in esteemed journals, and mentor early career researchers and academics.
Lead curriculum design and delivery using modern teaching practices that foster student success and engagement.
Forge strategic partnerships locally, nationally, and internationally, addressing real-world educational challenges.
Support academic staff, promote research integration, and enhance student and staff experiences aligned with UniSC's vision and values.
About you
Our candidate will possess strong subject matter expertise, pedagogical expertise, excellent communication skills, a passion for teaching and learning, a student-centered approach, and a commitment to innovative and engaging teaching methods.

This includes a deep understanding of pedagogical principles and instructional strategies, including implementing effective teaching methods to enhance student learning outcomes.
You will create a conducive learning environment, maintaining discipline and fostering a positive atmosphere for learning.
Assessment and feedback; designing fair and relevant assessments to evaluate student progress and areas for improvement.
Adaptability and flexibility; adapt to diverse learning needs and situations, adjusting the teaching approach based on student feedback and emerging educational trends.
Continuous professional development, a commitment to own professional growth and development, actively seeking opportunities to expand knowledge, attend workshops, conferences, and engage in research to stay current.

You will possess:
A doctoral qualification in a relevant field and demonstrated academic leadership in teacher education.
A track record of excellence in research, including securing grants, publishing impactful findings, and supervising Higher Degree by Research candidates.
Leadership in teaching, including innovative curriculum design and recognition for teaching excellence.
The ability to create and maintain productive partnerships and collaborations.
A commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive academic culture that inspires students and colleagues.
Eligibility for teacher registration in Queensland.
