What role will you play We are seeking an Accountant to join our UniLodge & Essence team located at our Head Office in Brisbane CBD.
You will be responsible for the preparation of management accounts for Australian and New Zealand properties under UniLodge & Essence management.

In a rapidly growing business, this role requires the accountant to deliver a consistent, accurate and high-quality service.
Our role will allow you to grow & develop your accounting and professional skills, whilst gaining a thorough understanding of how a thriving Finance Department works.
More specifically you will:
Preparation of month end management accounts for properties – income journals, bank reconciliations, pre-payments & accruals, profit and loss statements, balance sheet, GST and cash flow statements Variance analysis between actuals vs budget and providing commentary.
Budgeting & forecasting for properties, for both UniLodge & Essence and building owners Preparation of year end reconciliations required for the annual audit for both UniLodge & Essence and building owners Inter-company reconciliations & ownership of corporate credit card process Account receivable invoicing, debtor management and arrears reporting Ad hoc trust receipting or review of trust payments where required Partnering with the Property Managers and building owners, including financial and operational reviews, process improvements and monthly/quarterly reporting Understanding the Property Management System and providing support to property staff when processing end of month What we're looking for Commenced or nearing completion of CA/CPA Accreditation 2 - 3 Years' experience within a similar accounting role Business/Accounting degree Intermediate Excel skills including formulas - pivot tables, vlookups (required) Strong attention to detail, able to meet deadlines & excellent verbal/written communication skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills & follows tasks through to completion Customer focussed and able to effectively communicate with internal and external customers Self-motivated and proactive behaviours are a must with examples from work history Excellent verbal/written communication skills; be confident in explaining policy and procedures to a variety of stakeholders whilst maintaining a professional approach Unrestricted work rights in Australia National Police Check (completed within last 3 months), at your own cost What we can offer you: Amplify your potential, we offer a variety of opportunities for career progression Personal and professional development, through online and face to face training and courses Focus on employee wellbeing to support mental, emotional, financial and physical health & wellbeing, including access to Employee Assistance Programs Hybrid working options Monthly morning tea, Annual Christmas Party, and other events Inclusive culture in a diverse, collaborative and fun team environment Various leave options including two weeks paid parental leave, study leave & much more Strong focus on employee engagement – annual feedback surveys, and access to our community platform (Viva Engage) Performance recognition programs and rewards: 'On-The-Spot' Awards, Quarterly Awards, Annual Awards Night, Employee Milestone Rewards Flu Vaccinations – Company Funded Generous referral bonus (up to $1,000 AUD/NZD) Access to Insider Rates at Essence Hotels and Apartments Are you ready to embark on a rewarding career?
