Scolmore have an exciting opportunity for a Supply Chain Manager to manage and oversee the timely delivery of all goods and services required by the business.
Coordinate the planning team to ensure purchase orders are placed in good time, delivery is expedited as required, and live inventory stocks are managed in line with business demands.
Main Duties Support the Procurement Director in establishing an annual plan that sets out the key objectives of the function together with creating suitable reports that provide for accurate monthly updates.
Manage the Supply Chain Team including Inbound Logistics to ensure that the team are assigned clear roles and responsibilities with agreed objectives.
Ensure all purchase orders for goods and services are placed accurately and in timely order to satisfy business demand, expediting delivery as required.
Oversee the organisation, planning and booking of land, air and sea freight services as required and determined by the purchases confirmed by the business.
Take accountability for the accurate upkeep of essential business information platforms related to supply chain including, but not limited to, estimated time of arrival of goods at warehouse sites, container shipping status and details of goods in transit.
Assume the role of 'Super User' in the stock product forecasting tools such as Slimstock and Epicor.
Work in conjunction with Product Development and Procurement teams to support the introduction or amendment of new products & ranges.
Maintain relationships with all relevant internal and external parties including Customer Services, Warehouses, Suppliers of product & services to ensure business needs are always met.
Proactively participate in forecasting discussions with the Commercial, Sales & Marketing departments as required and support product promotion campaigns to ensure supply chain activity is correctly aligned.
Take ownership of delays, shortages, and capacity problems when they occur providing timely & accurate information to relevant business stakeholders.
Design and create suitable management reports & metrics to highlight the work in the function, providing context for any variances of note e.g.
stock out statistics, changes in available stock balance.
Collate and manage all documentation to satisfy good record keeping and compliance to GDPR standards whilst ensuring that all other departments such as Commercial, Finance, Customer Services and Quality are fully supported with their information requirements.
Monitor and manage supplier performance against agreed service level agreements.
Assist in the arrangement of pre-shipment inspections, factory & social audits together with helping the quality assurance department to close out any identified non-conformances.
Keep abreast of any changes in legislation and import tariffs that may have a direct impact on the cost or organisation of buying goods for resale from international sources.
Communicate relevant changes of note to all internal stakeholders.
Regularly and proactively review supplier capacity to enable correct scheduling of supply chain planning activities and to support the team to optimise tasks.
Take responsibility to ensure the supply chain team members are adequately trained and that they work in a cohesive manner to eliminate duplication and waste.
Essential Skills and Experience Ability to manage effective relationships with Customer Services, Commercial, Logistics, Warehouse and Suppliers to manage all aspects of the supply chain team responsibilities.
Experience of working in a matrix organisation.
Experience in being able to continually monitor supply chain capacity and use accurate information to execute relevant tasks & decisions that ensures stock of saleable product is available in the company's warehouses as required.
Must have the ability to proactively organise own work and that of others.
Essential to have a working knowledge of the process to book and manage all logistics for inbound goods whether that be by Air, Sea or Land as required.
Understanding of the process & related documentation of importing goods for resale including an awareness of import duties, port operational procedures, and freight forwarding.
Be responsible for managing supplier relationships in the timely delivery, within agreed cost, of all purchased goods & services.
Must be commercially astute with a strong understanding of how supply chain operations impact a business.
Ensure relevant system data is accurately maintained to enable good quality reports to be generated.
With a good attention to detail, you must be able to understand complex and large volume data.
An excellent team orientated individual, you will be a flexible and adaptable individual with a can-do attitude.
Must be a creative thinker who will seek solutions and optimum ways to complete tasks that benefit the business.
Good working knowledge of Excel with strong numerical and analytical skills.
Desirable Skills and Experience Working knowledge of Slim Stock or other MRP software solutions.
