Permanent role Brisbane CBD location The Underwriter – Higher Hazard Property performs day-to-day operational underwriting functions within the national High Hazard Property team through the underwriting and negotiating of individual policy renewals, new business, and mid-term policy adjustments.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Execute on the Higher Hazard Property product strategy and deliver key financial targets to drive profitable growth and increase market share. Develop, deliver, and execute a cohesive underwriting plan and service/value proposition to our intermediaries. Emphasize solution-oriented underwriting by excelling in customer service fundamentals. Work closely with Distribution to build product market awareness and strengthen broker relationships to ensure a seamless experience for our intermediaries and mutual clients. Execute on the go-to-market proposition and distribution strategy for High Hazard Property focusing on existing partners and those with the highest growth potential. Deliver comprehensive product training to key broker partners, supported by detailed risk appetite statements, loss bulletins, and other educational materials. Skills & Experience: Minimum 2 years of commercial experience in property insurance. Demonstrated basic knowledge of portfolio, underwriting, reinsurance, and pricing practices. Basic understanding of the general insurance industry and the external marketplace when delivering to customers and brokers. Ability to drive accountability and commitment to the achievement of goals by setting goals that are aligned to Suncorp's strategic objectives.
