The opportunity

We have a great opportunity for an Underwriter to join our Workers Compensation and Accident & Health Team in Sydney. You will be part of a successful and dynamic team spread across Australia, with the opportunity to grow and develop your insurance and underwriting career. You will be responsible for running a profitable Workers Compensation and Accident & Health portfolio, providing insights and expertise to your customers including underwriting, maintaining a renewal portfolio, new business and responding to quotes.

Your new role

Underwrite risks in accordance with defined limits of authority or class authority, organizational policy and underwriting standards.

Plan and implement a strategy to attract and retain high value customers and to improve current performing policies to ensure portfolio plans are met.

Monitor client and market requirements and client feedback by conducting client calls and visits.

Ensure all documentation is accurate and complies with organisation guidelines.

Provide efficient and timely service & problem-solving solutions to brokers and clients.

Develop and maintain good working relationships with all customers, intermediaries, and internal stakeholders.

About you

Previous experience in Underwriting.

Broad insurance industry and exposure to Workers Compensation preferred.

Established customer/broker relationship management and communication skills.

Understanding of relevant Insurance market conditions.

Strong business acumen with the ability to analyse data and use for decision making.

Relevant problem solving and negotiation skills.
