We will continue on our improvement journey to challenge the way we work optimising our entire operation.About the roleWe are looking for a highly motivated, results driven Production Shift Supervisor with excellent leadership, safety & technical skills to join our Mining Operations team.
The position will be reporting to the Mining Manager and be part of a team who are focused on working together to deliver improvement in all aspects of the underground mining operations.The UG Production Shift Supervisor will oversee the day to day operation of shift workers and equipment usage at BMTJV underground mine site.
To ensure all workers on shift are trained and competent to perform their duties safely and productively at all times.
While adhering to weekly schedules and capturing variance when required.The position is being offered on 7 days on 7 off rotating shift roster.Core responsibilitiesEnsures mining operations are conducted in a productive & safe manner and any safety issues are promptly reported.Manages the performance of crews in a proactive manner.Conduct yearly performance review process with all employees & quarterly performance conversations.Ensures ore is mined efficiently to the satisfaction of geology and Tech Services personnel and ensuring targets are met.Performs daily management, control and supervision of the working areas of the mine in accordance with all relevant Acts and Regulations.Oversees the mine and looks after BMTJV Pty Ltd interest with regard to duty of care to all employees, sub-contractors and visitors.Organises and provides guidance to crews in regards to rosters and day to day running of that particular site.Ensures quality verbal and written handovers are completed and all required paperwork is submitted.Is proactive in improving the Mining Department and utilising the Continuous Improvement Process.Conducts daily work planning meetings/toolbox meetings.Ensures new staff have been appropriately inducted.Oversees the training of shift personnel and to make sure all tasks given are conducted in a safe manner.Liaise with the Maintenance Department in regards to any repairs to equipment and servicing.Submit incident reports in writing to the Operations Manager for incidents when they occur on shift.About youYou will be highly motivated with a minimum of 5-10 years proven experience working as a supervisor in an underground mining environment with excellent leadership, safety and technical skills.
