Undergraduate Civil Engineering Cadetship – Brisbane15 Aug, 2024Silverstrand is seeking motivated and determined Civil Engineering Undergraduates to join the team and learn from experienced leaders and diverse civil construction projects across South-East Queensland – focused on the Brisbane to Gold Coast region.About the Opportunity:Cadetship or Summer holiday students must be at least nearing the end of their first year of studies and participate in paid work while completing their education. The program would run from November to February during the summer holidays in a full-time work capacity and part-time outside of those months with flexibility around study.This is a great way to utilise your academic knowledge and understanding, and turn it into practical, real-world capabilities to further your university studies and your future engineering career. Development pathways in different disciplines of civil engineering and the ability to network and be mentored by a variety of experienced project teams.Starting your undergraduate journey with Silverstrand. This opportunity is aimed for undergraduate Civil Engineers looking to get a taste of what a career within the civil industry would be like. This will include working on Civil projects ranging from FRP Concrete Structures, Pipe work projects, Road projects, Drainage, etc.Your daily responsibilities may include:Assisting with data collection and reportingWorking collaboratively with the project teamUndertaking general administration duties for the project teamLearning and understanding project processes and systemsUnderstanding project schedules to work and plan activities withinLearning budgets and track costing from tenders and project allocationsAbout you:Be a current Engineering undergraduate.Ability to commit to working full time – Mon to Fri throughout the Summer Holidays.Hold a white card.Have a passion for Civil construction and the willingness to learn from great industry professionals.Motivated to want to learn and be challenged on site and in the office.Relevant industry experience is highly regarded but not essential.A current driver's licence and access to reliable transport (P1, P2 or Full).What we can offer:Site based and Office based workFlexible working arrangements around studyFull time, Part time and holiday workAbout us:Silverstrand is a privately owned and operated contractor operating across Australasia since 2008, providing quality delivery in all areas of both civil and structural construction works in metro, regional and remote areas.
