WEM has a rewarding opportunity for an Undergrad Engineer to join the team. This entry-level role is based at our Head Office in Bella Vista, where you'll begin your civil engineering career by gaining hands-on experience in procurement and estimation. As you build a strong foundation in these key areas, you'll have the opportunity to grow into a site-based Engineer, advancing your career with the WEM team.
This role offers the flexibility to work part-time, allowing you to balance your study commitments effectively.
Key Responsibilities: Project Documentation & Compliance: Gain a deep understanding of project drawings, specifications, and specific requirements, ensuring compliance with project quality standards, Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) regulations, and environmental documentation. Subcontractor Quotation Support: Assist in preparing and reviewing detailed subcontractor requests for quotations, including comprehensive takeoffs and analysis to ensure accuracy and competitiveness. Procurement Coordination: Collaborate with the Procurement Team to ensure the timely procurement of materials and subcontractors, in alignment with company requirements and project timelines. Supplier & Subcontractor Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to effectively manage the procurement schedule and deliver quality outcomes. Bid Preparation & Estimation: Work closely with the estimating team to compile high-quality bids, ensuring that formatting, presentation, and written content meet WEM's professional standards. Template Documentation Management: Ensure all project documentation is accurately compiled into WEM templates, maintaining consistency and professionalism across all submissions. Commercial & Contractual Collaboration: Partner with the commercial team to review and address contractual matters, ensuring timely and effective responses to contractual obligations. About You: Currently studying a Bachelor of Civil Engineering Degree or Construction Management. Current White Card. Current Driver's Licence. Commitment to health, safety, environment, and quality standards and practices. Strong relationship-building skills. A proactive and positive attitude with the ability to use initiative. Great communication and organisation skills, including strong attention to detail. The ability to be computer savvy, including the use of CRM-based applications and proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite. Remuneration: Competitive salary aligned with your experience.
