Role Overview UMENCO is recruiting a fastidious Garment Technician to work alongside the production and design teams at a coveted luxury womenswear brand.
In this role, the Garment Technician will draw on their advanced technical knowledge to translate the seasonal design vision to specs and tech packs. They will create g arment and measurement specifications for styles, being accountable for establishing and maintaining quality and fit standards to ensure garments are manufactured to the brand's exacting standards.
The Garment Technician will measure and process all samples against specifications sent to the vendors; a ttend all fit sessions and provide technical advice; resolve any potential style and fit issues; identify and prevent potential production and QC problems, and liaise with vendors to address fit and construction changes and answer technical questions as they arise. They will also manage grading rules and measurements for all specifications for production in line with the brand's standards; adhere to company timelines by processing tech packs and signing off on all development and production in a timely manner, and will w ork with the production manager to sign-off on shipping samples and approval to ship bulk.
The successful talent will also work collaboratively with the customer service team to glean practical insights into the fit, fabric, and workmanship of garments. The talent we seek will have an inherent ability to problem-solve and time-manage, adhere to a critical path, overcome obstacles, and collaborate with teams and suppliers to deliver products that are consistent in their fit and construction.
The role will require the Garment Technician to not only prepare and be across all tech packs but have an understanding and be adept at draping techniques. They will hold a tertiary qualification in technical fashion with proficiency across tools including the Microsoft Office suite and QA and pattern-making related software.
