The Project & Cost Accounting function records the costs associated with a particular project or job in Ultra. It collects all costs, invoices, time cards and other direct project charges and assures they are recorded in the correct charge account. The function will create data that tracks, reports on and analyses the financial performance of projects.
Key responsibilities will include: Project Administration Administrative support of Project and Program artefacts aligned with set policies and procedures Planning and coordination of Program administrative activities, outputs and tasks Supporting the delivery of Program and Project reports Supporting the development and implementation of Business Policies and practices Project Set up in IFS Monthly invoicing, project creation and reporting in financial system Assist and support with Program planning and reviews Other duties as directed Project Reporting Provide recurring & ad hoc reports to Program Managers and other stakeholders Support month-end close processes Ensuring accurate and timely invoicing of customers and assist in the resolution of any overdue invoices in a prompt manner Key Competency Requirements: Highly competent in use of Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) Demonstrable high degree of computer literacy including familiarity with accounting and/or ERP system(s) preferably IFS. The candidate must be eligible to obtain and maintain a current Australian Defence Security Clearance to Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1). Personal Attributes: A sound understanding of program cost accounting / project accounting is desirable Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously whilst able to motivate others around the business Good communicator who is highly analytical, with good attention to detail and able to prioritise tasks Creative and pragmatic in approach whilst being well organised and calm under pressure Prepared to multi-task and work flexibly to achieve deadlines Focus on process improvement opportunities for the LOB Demonstrates behaviours that align with and promote Ultra's values Experience: Experience with ERP's and accounting standards Why it's great to work for Ultra Maritime!
