The ideal candidate in this role will use coaching practices and mentoring staff and team members.
They will be strong communicators, flexible in their methods, have a high level of empathy, are welcoming, and have a willingness to learn.
They will be comfortable with technology with computer skills to include utilizing web-based programs and Microsoft Office (Word and Excel). As a UI Benefit Specialist 3 with the Support Team, in this role you will support diverse work with skills and abilities such as living in ambiguity, flexibility, the ability to navigate feedback, and working with stakeholders both internal and external.
You must have the ability to multitask and prioritize workload, working within a small group as well as facilitating large group meetings.
This is a full-time/non-permanent position that is primarily telework but may require occasional in-office meetings or events.

You will assist the supervisor in coaching and mentoring staff of varying abilities regarding law, policy, and procedures for the resolution of basic and complex issues to meet the Department of Labor quality standards once initial training has been completed.
You will identify training needs of individual staff members and assist them in meeting their training needs.
Develop coaching collateral to provide to staff, both individually or in large group settings, to provide on-the-job support.
Some of what you will do: Provide technical support and policy/procedure clarification and consultation on various types of initial claims, continued claims, and a full range of adjudication issue cases.Provide assistance to new claims center staff during onboarding.Work with Enterprise Claims Center Manager to plan strategies and implement new approaches to the workload.Research potential solutions and make recommendations.Complete call monitoring and web notice reviews for intake staff.Complete Training Quality Reviews and Quality Reviews for adjudication staff.Review adjudication decisions for content, DOL requirements, law and policy, and ensure thorough fact-finding.Score content for local and federal requirements and provide continuous feedback on written determinations to adjudicators to ensure they meet the Federal Benefit Timeliness and Quality (BTQ) Standard.For a full description of duties, please click here to request from the recruiter: PDF Request
What you bring: A combination of education and/or relevant experience equivalent to eight (8) years, which includes professional unemployment insurance claims processing and adjudication experience.
OR: One (1) year of experience as a Benefits Specialist 1 or 2 (previously UIS 2, 3, or 4).
Education to Experience Equivalences: Associate Degree = 2 years | Bachelor Degree = 4 years | Masters or Higher = 5 years
Applicable degrees include: Social Science | Public or Business Administration | Or Related field
